EVOLUTION- The Road to Prosperity Evolution in the sense that we shall use it is not necessarily synonymous with Darwin's evolutionary theory, as it is a broader concept that for communication's sake shall be defined here as progression to a desired state, in any field. The Infidelic Church is concerned with evolutionary progress in the fields that influence our prosperity, such as DNA, world-views, technology, ethics, and social structure.
Our DNA is a very important factor that not only plays a large role in our mental and physical capacities as a human, but also determines if we are human at all, or a banana, or a monkey, or a sponge. It is undeniable how profoundly it affects us, deciding if we shall be retarded or a genius, sickly or in superior health. Before we are even born this chemical has already written much of our personal fate. We are normally at the whim of our parents and of a chemical reaction when receiving our DNA, but as our technology is evolving it is seeming not only possible but nearly certain that we will be able to gain greater levels of control over the DNA of new humans as well as our own genetic makeup, through gene therapy technologies. As of now however the only method to evolve our DNA seems to be the old fashioned meeting of quality reproductive cells that contain strong genetics.
Our world-views are how we "know" the world to be. I theorize that world-views tend to devolve as they lose correlation with reality. Not all false beliefs are bad (harmful to the believer's subjective prosperity) but when a person has no concern for the truth of their beliefs they are credulous, and vulnerable to con artists and madmen who have developed quite the habit for leading them to ruin, or fucking them out of their money and their dignity. In addition, living true and marveling at the mystery and strangeness of everything (as opposed to believing it to all be figured out) can be euphoric and wonderful. It is quite satisfying to do one's own search for the truth, and not truly believe anything taken on faith. Instead of living in a traditional secondhand “reality tunnel” you can create your own world consciously (since our mind creates everything we experience anyways, whether we realize it or not) and just use it as the symbol it really is, to symbolize reality and to put things into a meaningful context. Your world-view can be thought of as everything that isn't direct experience. When our model of reality is seen for what it is we have more power to update it when it is proven to not be in keeping with reality as well as more control over the model itself, as opposed to it being programmed by others. An evolved world-view as I see it is one that is in smooth keeping with reality and, consequentially, improves the experience of the beholder and those affected by him. A devolved “reality” is one that conflicts with observation and logic and, consequentially, degrades the experience of the beholder (or makes him a fool) and those affected by him (not including, of course, the one's that get to laugh at his stupidity).
Ethics are the part of our world-views that outline the ways we should interact with our environment and with other humans. I believe, naturally, that ethics should be based on the creation of prosperity. The Infidelic Virtues outline some of the ethics that seem to be conducive to prosperous habitats, especially when pleasure is seen as “the Good” and suffering as “the Bad”. I believe that ethical living is the most evolved because it naturally produces an optimal human environment. The more evolved the social environment the more one can focus on things that bring them pleasure and meaning instead of just watching one's back.
Social structures are the agreements of who gets to (or has to) be in charge of (or subjected to) what, how the Goods get split up, what is tradition and what is taboo, what is expected of us and what is forbidden, etc. Basically the Game Rules of a human society. They certainly don't seem to rest on any “objective” reality but are mental constructs, and seem based on human (primate) nature and learned behavior. Note that social structures are different from ethics, because the law of the land may or may not align with your personal ethics (which are based on your personal values) on any given issue, or even with the personal ethics of the vast majority of the governed. I believe that an evolved social structure is one that is better for everyone with minimal or no sacrifices needed. Because of the many conflicts of interest, grey areas, and opposing schools of thought, such as communism and capitalism, encountered when attempting to determine what a "good" social structure should be like, it is a matter of economics and social science to determine the details, but some things, such as slavery, tyranny, and habitual genocide are in clear opposition to the principles of this church.
Technology is every idea manifested and passed on by thinking humans. Some ideas do much good for humanity, others much bad. We believe that technologies that make life better are good, and believe that technologies with bad side effects need to be made properly obsolete, and see harmful technology as a necessary (and at times unnecessary) evil to last us until a technology that won't have as bad effects can be implemented, not as something to keep trying to support until we just can't take it anymore (such as fossil fuel based energy today). As for psycho-spiritual technologies there have been many developed over the years by religious groups, psychiatrists, and others. I theorize that it may be good to gather techniques from a multitude of different groups, and to be able to find common denominators of good and bad techniques.
